I Have the Secret to the NEXT BEST THING! ARE YOU READY!?

Weight loss, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle don't have to be so complicated!

Why are we making things so complicated when it comes to health and wellness? At minimum, there is a new "next best thing" in nutrition, diet, wellness, or health every year. Each time, it tends to contradict the prior best thing, and all the information debunks how the prior best thing was actually dangerous, damaging, etc.

At a physiological level, all macronutrients have a functional purpose in our bodies, so if we are cutting those out, aren't we setting ourselves up for possible health issues? Food and calories are where our energy is coming from, so if we are fasting or cutting out extreme amounts of food, aren't we removing our energy sources? Could metabolic issues be coming from constantly throwing our bodies in and out of calorie deficits and eliminating food groups? From my perspective, all of these trends may bring us weight loss, but at what cost to our health?

I am a firm believer that unless a doctor has given specific recommendations based off an individual's health risk factors or current conditions, standard dietary guidelines and an understanding of nutrition can provide simple guidance to achieve an individual's goals and sustain those long-term without a complicated set of instructions that require restriction. For example, weight loss can be achieved without a diet trend. Removing the complications of navigating a difficult diet, it makes it easier to focus on the mindset aspect of things, such as motivation.

We often feel like a failure when we embark on another diet, and "fail" after a few weeks. Let's talk about the reality of what is happening.

First, change is HARD! We jump in ready to go with a diet, and all the motivation ready  to crush our goals. We research diets, find something that promises amazing results and resonates on some level. We learn all the complicated "rules" and get prepared to start. The first week we are running on the excitement of something new and the excitement of awesome results. We are ON TOP of our health game!

A few weeks later, the excitement starts to wear off, the diet feels restrictive and complicated, we just don't have the time to do everything. So we cave and eat some ice cream, well now it's all messed up, so we might as well start again tomorrow and enjoy the evening. The next morning, still not feeling it, so we'll just start again on Monday. We can't get restarted, so we just feel defeated and go back to our prior habits.

Sound familiar? If so, you aren't alone at all! Has that cycle repeated multiple times?

There's a reason. Life happens, stress happens, trends often aren't focusing on giving the tools to understand nutrition for the long term, and it's all unrealistic to maintain with all that is going on behind the scenes in life, in our brains and in our bodies.

Let's say we made it through the diet, but hit a plateau super close to goal. There's a reason.

Made it all the way to goal, but as soon as the diet was over, the weight came back. There's a reason.

The reason is not, more discipline, more motivation, more willpower... What was not provided was how to actually change behaviors and the skills/knowledge to live sustainably without staying on a diet forever.

There is so much more to creating sustainable change, and that's where I come in to help. By providing a structured meal plan, we are able to work together to take the thought out of the food during weight loss, so we can focus on learning all the skills & tools to learn how to navigate nutrition and habits long term without being on a meal plan or diet forever.

So if you are ready to get off the diet tilt-a-whirl, achieve realistic weight loss, learn to navigate nutrition, and have the tools to understand and adjust your individual habits, schedule a free 1:1 consultation.

I'm ready to help you step outside the box, then break it.
