Why Diet Culture WANTS You to Fail...

Diet culture is the idea that being THIN is ideal, and perpetuates myths & expectations around food, exercise, and how you SHOULD / SHOULDN’T feel, eat, and be when it comes to your body & health. Personally, I say screw all that noise!


So, if diet culture is all about weight & “health”, why does it actually set you up for failure? Let’s just get straight to the point…


The weight loss industry is a $90 billion industry, and it’s at an all time HIGH. While you are looking to feel confident, lose weight, improve your health, they are always looking for new & “innovative” ways to keep you in the cycle.


On social media, how many times a day do you see?

It’s a barrage of empty promises to keep you trying, buying and failing, so you keep getting stuck on the roller coaster loops and grow an industry that is loud and in your face... keeping you stuck in feelings of shame, guilt and failure.


Let me prove my hypothesis… how many times have you tried the “BEST NEW DIET”, lost some weight, felt great, then got overwhelmed, felt restricted, and eventually gained the weight back? 


I’m going to guess, quite a few. Why? Because I’ve been there and most of my clients have been as well. It’s the most consistent pattern I’ve recognized throughout my seven years as a health coach. And it’s the one that fuels me to empower clients to STEP OUTSIDE THE BOX, THEN BREAK IT! 


So what makes working with me any different? I’m a rebel at heart, and I WANT you to succeed. I want you to hit your weight loss goal, and I want you to feel confident to not be stuck with me forever. As much as I’m sure I would adore you & miss you, I WANT YOU to have the power. 


My focus is different from diet culture. While diet culture focuses on what you SHOULD be & gives you no tools or skills to maintain, I focus on what you WANT to be & how you can do that for the REST of your life! Because losing weight is freaking hard, and when you put the work in, you deserve to be provided with the skills, knowledge and tools to keep it off.
